Description: rhodium plated base metal, rhinestones, baguettes, enamelling (on the bangle). The clip mate dress clips slot onto the spurs. Any small KTF and Trifari clip mate dress clips will fit on the bangle, so the decoration can be changed freely. The bangle comes with the two dress clips shown, and a clipmate mechanism enabling the clips to be worn together as a single pin
Marked: Bangle marked Pat No 2061479; dress clips marked 49, Clipmates (one clip), Pat Pend (in the Clipmate channel, the other)
Reference: The bangle patent is reproduced below (scroll down), filed July, granted Nov 1936, designer Alfred Philippe, for bracelets holding clipmate dress clips. The Pat Pend mark dates the clips to before the Clipmate patent (2050804, filed April)) was granted in Aug 1936. Advertised for sale at Saks Fifth Ave, in two sizes, priced $42.50 and $25 (this size), in the New York Times, 13 Dec 1936, p 163 [or RPA7 depending on the archive]; click thumbnail above to view advertisement.

Size: Bangle inner circumference 6.65" x 0.8" (at back - it tapers slightly); dress clips each 1.3" x 1.2"; together as a clipmate 2.6" x 1.2"
